– A PERSONAL WEDDING GREETING FROM PAT GARY–
Congratulations! You and your fiancé have just set a date to
get married. That big day will be here before you know it.
Because this is the most important day of your life, you want
your reception to go smoothly and your reception music to be
presented in a professional and courteous manner.
As your guests are
entering the banquet hall, waiting for the bride and groom and
the wedding party to arrive, I'll be there and ready to greet
them with soft background music. Next, after the bride and
groom's arrival, I introduce the wedding party. After the
wedding party is introduced, we welcome you as man and wife
with applause and recognition. While everyone is enjoying the
meal, I'll be serving up a tasty mix of jazz, love songs and
easy listening music.
Now the spotlight is on
you. Your first dance as husband and wife, dancing to your
special love song. Next comes the bride's dance with her
father and the groom dancing with his mother. The guests,
wedding party and family are then invited to join in on the
dance floor.

The ages of your guests will probably
range anywhere from five to 75, so I'll have music for
everyone. From today's hits to the hits of yesterday. There
will be love songs, top 40 dance, country and even big band
music for the older folks and younger folks who swing. You and
your guests will rock, twist, slide and jam! Of course there
are those participation songs such as the electric slide,
YMCA, the hokey pokey, the chicken dance, the conga and the
twist. Before the reception we will discuss which of these
participation songs you would like played. We can be as corny
as you like and really play up the celebration songs or if you
wanted the reception a little less lively, more emphasis is
placed on love songs from yesterday and today. It's your day
and whatever music you would like played will be played, not
the musical preference of the DJ.
According to when you would like,
I'll announce the cutting of the cake and make available a
wireless microphone to the best man or whomever doing the
toast. A couple of hours into the reception I'll announce the
throwing of the bouquet and garter for all the single ladies
and men. I will also announce and play any special dedications
you may have for friends or family. I even take requests
throughout the reception. So if Uncle Bob wants "Twist
and Shout" or if Grandmother wants Frank Sinatra's
"The Way You Look Tonight", I will gladly play it
for them.
Remember, bands take many breaks
throughout the evening and the music stops. A professional DJ,
like myself, provides you with low cost entertainment and
non-stop music from the beginning to the end of the reception.
Finally we get your guests together
to give you a special good bye before you and your fiancé are
off to your honeymoon. I thank your guests for coming and your
once in a lifetime reception is over.
Let me make your reception an event
that you and your guests will never forget. Wouldn't you
rather trust an experienced professional DJ that has done
hundreds of receptions instead of a cheaper unskilled DJ that
is inexperienced, unequipped and unprepared. I promise to do
whatever your wishes are to make your reception fun and
unforgettable.
